The result of the American presidential election came about quite unpredictably for many people in the Arab Region. Observers reacted negatively. What is far more important is the possible impact of
Trump’s victory on the Tunisian-American relations in the medium and long run.
The outcome of the US presidential election is extremely important for the stability of Tunisia and the success of its democratic experience, because it will determine the future of two aspects, the stability of the country and the needed support for economic development.
The question is to know if Tunisia will continue to be on “radar screens” of the new Trump’s administration when he takes effectively office. Moreover, the US role in the region calls for further interrogations after this major political change.
To discuss all theses topics, we have convened a Panel of Experts and policy-makers.
